Old Business
Suzette could not attend the meeting but sent a report.
Suzette spoke to staff at the library about the possibility of an Altered Book
show. The library is supportive of this idea and suggested an Altered Book
class for kids in the summer. A date was not set for the show but it was
suggested that it be sometime after County-wide garage sales so artists can
pick out books at the library’s sale.
Katie recommended that the age group for the Altered Book class not be
younger than 3rd or 4th grade.
Program ideas suggested were beading, mandalas, polymer
clay, night photography, and circle painting.
Show and Tell
Fred shared a poem he wrote inspired by a dream. Donna
showed a pouch that she beaded. Kathleen brought an oil landscape painting and
a giclee print on canvas. It was hard to tell the difference between the original
and the print. The business website is: http://artprintexpress.com/.
Mary brought her finished butterfly quilts. Katie showed colored pencil
drawings. David showed his handmade valentine.
The group swapped handmade valentines and enjoyed
refreshments.
The next meeting will be Monday, March 12, 6:00 PM at Sarah’s
Enchanted Cottage.
